Safe Recruitment Procedures for those working with Children and Young People
All coaches must hold a recognised coach qualification and proof must be provided prior to recommendation for appointment.
Interviews for coaching positions to be conducted by at least two members of the committee (one male and one female) to be selected as required by the Chair or Vice Chair.
Access NI enhanced check must be completed for all coaches and volunteers (with substantial access to children) prior to them taking up appointment.
Two references to be sought and obtained for all coaches and volunteers.
Job description to be provided for all relevant roles.
Supervision to be made available to all coaches and volunteers.
On appointment all coaches and volunteers will sign the Code of Conduct and renew every 3 years.
All coaches and volunteers will complete Safeguarding training on appointment and renew every 3 years. The initial training must be face to face and there after can be online on alternate occasions. The Club Safeguarding Officer and Deputy CSO must also complete the Designated Officer training and renew every 3 years.
